Rule of Thirds

This is the Bennington Monument taken on this cloudy, beautiful fall day. I do like the top photo as my eyes are focused on many different items in the picture, i.e. the monument, clouds, beauty of the colorful trees. The bottom picture my eyes focused immediately on the monument and the colorful trees in front of. This was a very cool assignment.

  1. Nice job on your Rule of Thirds photos! I love the shot with the off-set....I think it makes the scene look much larger because the viewer gets to fill in some of the details in their own mind. When the subject is centered we don't get to use our imaginations as much.

  2. Nice Job. I like both of the photos. I think the offset photo causes the viewer to look at what is around the monument more than the center photo.

  4. Love how you applied the rule of thirds - the first photo is fantastic... looks like it could be a postcard!

  5. I like both of these shots. They are distinct in their own way. The offset one gives more of the foliage and fog, and the centered one makes a monument the focal point of the picture. Nothing wrong with that!!! Great job
